Pilargo Foundation™ supplies Multilineage-differentiating Stress-Enduring (Muse) cell preparations to clinics and research groups. “Muse cells” describes a rare, naturally occurring cell type — it isn't a brand name any regulator controls. So two vials from two different labs, both labelled “Muse cells,” can contain genuinely different things. The only way to know what's in a specific batch is to test it, which is what we document on every lot we ship.
The problem
In plain terms
Muse cells are a rare type of cell that occurs naturally inside ordinary stem-cell cultures — nobody manufactures them from scratch. Turning an ordinary culture into a genuine Muse cell product means running it through a lab process that separates out that rare fraction and concentrates it. Skip that step, and what's in the vial is, functionally, an ordinary stem-cell preparation with a Muse label on it.
Muse cells make up roughly one to a few per cent of the cells in an ordinary mesenchymal (MSC) culture. Any laboratory can print the word “Muse” on a label — nothing stops them. What actually separates a real Muse preparation from a plain MSC one is a deliberate enrichment step, and the only proof that step happened is a lab-measured number.
An unsorted cultured mesenchymal population lands in the low single digits on that number in every mammal examined: canine adipose-derived cells at 0.93%, feline at 2.9%, human cultures generally around one to a few per cent. Fresh tissue is lower again — in bone marrow drawn straight from a donor, before any culture step, the figure is roughly 0.03%.
Either way, that is simply what the starting material naturally contains. It is a measurement, not a specification, and not a finished product. The full benchmark table sets out each figure and where it comes from.

Position
We won't tell you Muse cells have been proven to outperform standard mesenchymal (MSC) therapy in patients. Nobody has ever run a trial comparing the two head-to-head, for any condition. Every claim about a Muse advantage rests on lab mechanism and animal studies, and we label it that way rather than blur the line.
We also won't tell you any of this is approved. No Muse cell product holds marketing approval anywhere in the world. The published human evidence is six early-phase trials, roughly sixty-seven patients in total, only one of them randomised against a placebo.
The claim we do make
A preparation is only as good as what was actually measured in it. We supply batch documentation so a clinic can judge a lot on its own numbers — not on the word “Muse” printed on the label.
